Brief History of Product Motion

Founded at the University of Michigan in 2024, Product Motion is the central hub for students from Engineering, Ross, LSA, and beyond, all united by a passion for building great products. What started as a product management focused speaker series and panels is now scaled to an active student organization on campus. With its 30+ active members, Product Motion is one of the select clubs on campus that you can join for product management. Don't forget, it starts with motion.

FAQ

Do I need prior PM experience to join? +

Not at all. Product Motion welcomes students from all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you've never heard of a PRD or you've already shipped a product, there's a place for you here.

What majors can apply? +

Anyone at the University of Michigan can apply. Product management is cross-functional by nature, and we reflect that in our membership.

When does rush happen? +

Rush takes place at the start of each semester. Keep an eye on our Instagram and this page for exact dates, info session times, and application deadlines. View rush details →

What is the time commitment? +

We meet weekly for workshops, project worktime, socials, and speaker sessions. Outside of that, time commitment varies by role and involvement, but we're built to fit around a full course load.

Can I reach out with a partnership or client project inquiry? +

Yes! We're always open to connecting with companies and recruiters. Reach out at productmotion@umich.edu and we'll get back to you promptly.

We're a student org. Can we collaborate with Product Motion? +
